Wighton is a pretty little village, just five minutes drive from the coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea and 5 minutes drive from the holy shrine at Walsingham visited by Pope John Paul. All Saints Church sits on a hill and can be seen from quite a distance. The original tower collapsed in a storm in 1965 but was rebuilt thanks to the generosity of Leeds Richardson, a Canadian architect and businessman, whose ancestors are buried here. In 1976 the tower was completed and had six bells installed rather than just one, as had been the case previously. The Wells to Walsingham narrow gauge steam railway, which is the longest 10¼" gauge railway in the world halts at Warham St Mary and Wighton, and operates between April and October.
